What are they?
It is an AFFF fire extinguisher which stands for Aqueous Film Forming Foam and because it is more versatile than water it has become one of the most popular choices over recent years and is ideal for the modern office. They have the genuine full BSi kitemark to BS EN3, BAFE certification and the CE Mark (legal requirement under Pressure Equipment Directive – PED) and our prices are more competitive than most traditional suppliers.

What are they suitable for?
It is suitable for Class A fires (wood, paper, material, cloth etc) and Class B (flammable liquids such as petrol, spirits, diesel).  Foam extinguishers should never be used on live electrical equipment or for chip pan fires (for the later see fire blankets).  It has the advantage of weighing less than a water extinguisher, litre for litre, and that makes it easier to handle, so a big plus for being lighter!

What do they look like?
Foam extinguishers are easy to identify as they have a cream strip above the label. There is also a polished stainless steel version that look really good in a ‘posh’ setting.

How about fixing?
Each fire extinguisher is boxed and supplied with a wall mounting bracket but we can also supply coloured or chrome extinguisher stands   An extinguisher sign should be fitted above the foam extinguisher.

Staff training on how to use fire fighting equipment is recommended.  Also to comply with current fire regulations and a must in respect of insurance claims, all extinguishers must be serviced once a year.
