What are they?
It is a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher and the only extinguisher suitable to use on electrical fires.and flammable liquid fires.    They have the genuine full BSi kitemark to BS EN3, BAFE certification and the CE Mark (legal requirement under Pressure Equipment Directive – PED) and our prices are more competitive than most traditional suppliers.

What are they suitable for?
They are suitable for Class B fires involving flammable liquids such as petrol, spirits, diesel, solvent and industrial oils.   Also for fires involving electrical equipment i.e. computers, disco gear and machinery etc.    In order to cover all risks, it is advisable to also have a powder or water extinguisher in addition to the CO2.

Please bear in mind that gas from a CO2 extinguisher can be harmful if used in confined places, because it displaces oxygen in the air, so ventilate the area as soon as the fire has been extinguished.  The gas emitted can be very cold and care should be taken when operating with bare hands to avoid ‘freeze burn ‘ unless it has a frost free horn which can be purchased from this site.

What do they look like?
They are painted red with a black area over the top of the label.  There is also a polished aluminium version of this extinguisher that looks good in a special setting!

How about fixing?
Each fire extinguisher is boxed and supplied with a wall mounting bracket but we can also supply coloured or chrome extinguisher stands   An extinguisher sign should be fitted above the CO2 fire extinguisher.

Think Safety!
Staff training on how to use fire fighting equipment is recommended.  Also to comply with current fire regulations and a must in respect of insurance claims, all extinguishers must be serviced once a year.
